Kristen Parker's journey begins in the opening scene of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, where a disfigured man torments her in a nightmare, causing her to slit her wrists in reality. This event forces her mother, Elaine, to commit her to Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital under Dr. Elizabeth Simms, who dismisses the supernatural as mass hysteria. Kristen joins fellow patients Phillip Anderson, Joey Crusel, Roland Kincaid, Will Stanton, Jennifer Caulfield, and Taryn White, all haunted by a common "bogeyman." When Nancy Thompson arrives, she reveals the tormentor is Freddy Krueger, a serial child killer burned to death years ago. Kristen's specific gift allows her to pull others into her dreams; when a giant snake attacks her, she pulls Nancy into the dream world to escape. Following unauthorized hypnosis that leaves Joey comatose, Dr. Neil Gordon and Nancy are fired. In a final group session, Taryn and Will are killed by Krueger. Although they rescue Joey, Freddy kills Nancy in the guise of her father, Donald, whom he murdered in reality while the teens were dreaming. Kristen promises to send the dying Nancy into a "beautiful dream." In The Dream Master, she struggles with paranoia and smoking, drawing Roland and Joey into her dreams until Krueger murders them while she stays awake. She eventually invites Alice to 1428 Elm Street, but Elaine sedates her. Kristen's descent into horror starts with a nightmare of a disfigured man that drives her to attempt suicide by slitting her wrists. Committed to Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, she meets Nancy Thompson, who identifies their tormentor as Freddy Krueger. When a grotesque snake attacks Kristen in a dream, she instinctively pulls Nancy into the nightmare, allowing them to escape together. After Phillip and Jennifer die in apparent accidents or suicides, the remaining teens face Krueger again. During a group hypnosis session while Kristen is sedated, Taryn and Will are killed by Freddy. Nancy and Roland rescue Joey, but Freddy kills Nancy as she watches helplessly from the dream world. By The Dream Master, Kristen lives with paranoia and smokes compulsively. She unknowingly draws Roland and Joey into her dreams; Krueger murders them while she is awake and unable to intervene. Realizing her doom, she tells Alice, Rick, and Dan about Freddy at 1428 Elm Street. Her mother, Elaine, puts sleeping pills in Kristen's milk. Kristen falls asleep and dreams of a placid tropical beach, but Krueger corrupts it into his factory nightmare. She calls for Alice, pulling her into the dream. As Krueger taunts them, he throws Kristen into his boiler, burning her alive. Before dying, she passes her powers to Alice through Freddy. In reality, her body is found roasting in bed, mistaken for a smoking accident.
